McDonald's recently released a Game Boy Color game called "Grimace's Birthday" on June 12, Monday, in celebration of Grimace's 52nd Birthday. This came as a surprise (for me at least), and it goes to show that even the folks at McDonalds have an appreciation for retro handheld consoles, such as the Game Boy Color, which is released in 1998.

The game, which is developed by Krool Toys in collaboration with McDonald's, is free to play on mobile and desktop at their official website. If you still have an original Game Boy Color machine that you want to play on instead, you may also download the rom here, though you would probably also need a flash cartridge for it too.

"Grimace Birthday Meal" set meals will also be available at participating McDonald's restaurants for a limited time. The set comes with fries, choice of Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets, and the highlight of the meal — a purple milkshake. McDonald's fans could also buy Grimace themed products at McDonald's official merchandise store at Golden Arches Unlimited.
