Nintendo Direct E3 2021 News - Our Top 3 Picks
Posted by Gamest Geek
So.. the recent Nintendo Direct (E3 2021, 15th June) announced several things that got us excited, among those our top 3 picks are:
1) The Legend of Zelda 35th Anniversary Game & Watch
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo is releasing a Zelda series themed Game & Watch (oh no, not another Game & Watch?!). Unlike the previously released Super Mario Bros 35th Anniversary Game & Watch (which only has 3 games), this Zelda themed handheld will be packed with 4 great games: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and a special version of the Game & Watch – Vermin game, where the original character is replaced by Link’s character instead. Additionally, it has a playable clock (themed with The Legend of Zelda) and an interactive timer (themed with Zelda II), both of which you can play with by taking control of Link. Stated for sale on 12th November 2021 at $49.99 (pre-order available now at £49.99 on Amazon UK, and various stores like Best Buy and GameStop), which is perfect for the upcoming Christmas season! We will update this page again when a link to Amazon US is available.
2) Metroid Dread (Metroid 5)
Metroid Dread is a direct sequel to 2002’s Metroid Fusion game. In this game, Samus heads alone to a mysterious remote planet and is hunted by a new mechanical threat, the E.M.M.I. robots. The game is stated to be launched on the Nintendo Switch in 8th October 2021, pre-order available at Nintendo. The Metroid Dread: Special Edition (which includes the game, steelbook, a 190-page 2D Metroid franchise artbook and five cards that feature box art from all the games in the five-part saga), as well as a new Samus amiibo figure (featuring her from Metroid Dread and an E.M.M.I. amiibo figure) will also be available at launch.
3) Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set is an action RPG where you can explore the vast world of Dragon Ball Z (training/fishing/hunting/etc), while also playing/fighting in the main story mode of the game. Quite certainly a must-have for all DB/DBZ and Goku fans! Available on 24th Sep 2021.
